I needed to exiecrse 30 minutes a day, everyday. So here's what I've done starting at 15 weeks : I've joined a ladies gym and I go everyday for 45 minutes and do strength training and elliptical and rowing. Completely changed my diet. No refined flours or processed foods. It's all whole grains, vegetables, fruits, good dairy, and lean proteins. Though my caloric intake sounds low between 1300-1500 a day, I can assure it's loaded with fiber, vitamins, and protein. I'm never hungry. I actually keep a chart to make sure baby gets what he needs. Since there's no refined or processed foods, my salt intake is also very low. My weight has stayed the same. I've actually watch my mushy-love handles decrease and be replaced by hard, healthy baby-ness. I'm proud of that. But, some of pants are tighter. Around the belly is to be expected, although I can still zip them, they are pretty snug around the belly. But, they're tighter in the thighs and butt! Why?! Is it because my belly has gotten so much bigger and it pulls on my pants, thus tightening in this area? I've only noticed it in my jeans, never my yoga pants. Or, is this the curse of the pregnant woman and once you become pregnant all things that makes sense about diet and exiecrse should be tossed out the window? Several reasons for the healthy diet and exiecrse regime : I started out overweight, I'm doing a natural delivery, I'm short extra weight is even worse for short people, diabetes runs in my husband's family his mom was diagnosed in her twenties as well as his sister I figured I would be setting our baby up for failure by feeding him the typical American diet in-utero, eating this way gives me a greater amount of energy. I feel like I'm doing everything right, and have felt so positive and proud of myself but when I put on those jeans yesterday I was let down.Dear Expectant Mom to A Baby Boy : I am focusing on my developing baby, that's the reason for the exiecrse and nutrition. During my first pregnancy I gained over 80 lbs and it was a nightmare. I had multiple medical interventions because of my weight and my son went into fetal distress . The healthier I am as a pregnant mom, the healthier our baby will be and I'll be a better mom for it. Forgive me if I sound paranoid, but the only thing I have to go by was my first pregnancy and it was a bad one. The nutrition charts I keep are to ensure my baby has everything he needs. I eat 65 grams of protein a day, about 45 of fiber, and so on, and it's a challenge, but I do it because it's what doctors say a growing baby needs. With my previous diet ( processed foods), he wasn't getting what he needed, hence the charts. I'm simply looking for advice from other moms who have gone through the same thing. I'm a good mom because his nutritional needs are met by diet, not just a pre-natal pill.**Of course** this is about the life growing inside of me, this is why I'm trying to be healthy. I used the term curse as a joke. You guys are misreading my question. If you read the first 3/4 of it you would see my main concern is my child. My midwives advised me on my diet and exiecrse and *I'm following their medical advice*. I have nothing else to go by. My last pregnancy was not healthy, I gained a massive amount of weight and very quickly. I'm just looking for a little bit of advice from someone who's been in my shoes.I expect to gain weight in a healthy way during this pregnancy, there's no doubt about it. I am just comically surprised that my butt may be expanding despite exiecrse and no weight gain.
