An unquoted programmer™ is someone whose skill as a programmer is judged solely on the basis of his or her novel, creative contributions in the form of useful code and interesting software applications.
An unquoted programmer is
just a programmer, as opposed to a quoted programmer™, or
"programmer
".
But how do you tell?
1. Quoted programmers™ prefer to write
about designing software while programmers prefer to design software.
- If you write about a cool piece of software that you have personally conceived, designed, and produced, you are a programmer.
- If you write about a piece of software that someone else has produced, you may or may not be a programmer.
- If you write about a piece of software that you haven't produced, and as far as you know, nobody else has yet produced, you are probably NOT a programmer (i.e., you are probably a "programmer").
