TOS - An attribute of a data connection. Related and very similar to Class of Service (CoS).

In IPv4 network packets, it is represented in an 8-bit (1 byte) field in the header which is used by a variety of QoS methods, including IP Precedence, Differentiated Services Code Point, and ToS field.
