I need to have some CSV data automatically stored to a MySQL database, then retrieved later by specific data..say by 2nd comma data...based on the variable present in that column.

ex: Bill, Virginia, Male, 26

So, if I entered send me everyone from Virginia..it would pull everyone in the database with Virginia and create a txt file or some such thing. Any ideas? Programmers who might be interested?

Hey,

I've just finished some library functions that produce SQL INSERT statements from fields (from CSV files for example).

You don't need this though.

MySQL will let you import CSV directly into your database.

Once you've added your data to your SQL database you will be able to use SQL's good old SELECT statement to get to your data. Your example, for example, would be

Stated simply, this says to return a 'table' with all fields ('*') from the database table called "people" where one of those fields (called "state") is equal to "Virginia". In a text-based context this will return a text-based display. Obviously, in a GUI you will get a GUI representation.

Does this help?

BTW: I'm never sure if people are looking for billable services or just a little friendly advice out here on the Internet. Let me know if you'd like a little consultation help with setting up an SQL database and importing these values in from CSV.
