I am trying to set it up that only certain people can edit the terms etc.
I just cant seem to work it out.

I want "elvis, Madonna & Tiger" all to be able to edit, but everyone else only to be able to view.
I have looked at this part of the Cfg, but cannot find how i make them "members" or how they login?

Hi Ctrl,

The members is controlled by placing your directory behind an '.htaccess' file. This allows use of standard http (really Apache) security methods between browsers and your hosting server.

I know people with control panel are also able to secure directories. I don't know exactly how that works, but some of those systems have seemed to produce directories that my script recognizes as member-areas. If you are not familiar with htaccess, this might be an easier alternative for you. Simply make the directory where your script is running a protected directory and set up users and logins for it. This may not always work, but it is worth a try.

. . . . .
Also:

The 1 in $SecurityOverride should allow you to add terms even from outside of a secured directory structure (Set $PermitEdit=2 just to be sure).

It could be that your template doesn't include an 'add' field. In this case, put an add field in your template. The frameset version of the templates (I think) include an 'add' field in the word-list frame (WL.tpl?), and an 'edit' field in the content frame. You may want to start by using the ...GetTerm.pl?fsGetTerm=word (the extra fs at the beginning) just to get started. Also, look at those '.tpl' files to see haw to put these links in your other content templates.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I am familair with htaccess (for what its worth the cpanel security just writes a htaccess file into the root so the user doenst have to do it themselves)

The only problem i see is that if i put a htacess file into the directory, ALL visitors will have to be members or have a username/password.

Unless.... i create a 3rd folder and have that as the input/edit for the allowed members? (this then solves my problem posted eslewhere about not being able to edit on a different language version.

What do you think ?

CtrlAltDel,

The license allows you to have as many presentations over the same term database as you would like. You can have an inside one and an outside one, a big-letter edition and a regular edition, even a framed and no-frames edition. The important thing is that they all display the same data from the same database.

I'm not sure how you want to set up your multi-language idea, but if there are two different databases (one containing English, and one containing Suix, for example), then you will need to get a second license once you've got it set up and intend to keep it. If you add more databases for other languages they will each need a license too.

One bit of advice: Wait until you've got them set up and are making them available for your visitors before purchasing the extra licenses. Adding licenses to an existing customer number will extend the download period for ALL the licenses you hold, from the date the last one was purchased.
