Deleting Problematic Words (Date posted: 11/08/06 at 18:52:20) |

I have added some words that are causing problems with the glossary.
"Design 30%" is an example. Try it. You will see what I mean. I'm unable to delete it using typical admin methods. How would I go about manually deleting this? I haven't explored a solution past the browser interface and wouldn't know where to start.
Any tips? Please let me know if you need more details.

ScottR,
Thanks for the bug-report.
I'm thinking, in this case, the '%' is causing problems over HTTP. I'll look into that. Can you give me a couple more examples of words that won't delete (especially if they have something other than '%' in them)?
In the interim, there are a couple of ways you can do it.
- Open the 'D' file and manually delete the line(s) for "Design 30%".
- Do a CSV export, delete the 'D' file from the server, and "Design 30%" from the CSV file, then import the CSV back up.
. . . .
I'll check/fix this problem in the current development (for the next release).
Sorry about the bug. Thanks again for finding it!

Here is one word
"Contract Services Division (f/k/a PWCC)"
Not sure what is wrong with this one. It may have been enterred with a space in front. THis brings up another one which is
" Introduction" Notice there is a space in front of it.

Scott,
The first one tests fine in GID. Could be the leading space thing. The way to know, is if it shows up in the '#' list. I seem to remember "fixing" a similar bug in the past, but may have missed an instance somewhere...
I'll be sure and put it in the current development. Again, the work-around is to edit the 'nn' file and delete the entries with leading spaces.
Thanks again for the bug help Scott.
