IrDA

IrDA is a low-cost data communications link that uses infrared optical rays (850nm) for short distance wire free links. The link is line of site and the maximum link distance is usually less than 10 meters. It uses a polling configuration to provide a maximum data rate of 4 Mbps.

It is generally used to connect computers to peripherals or in very limited applications for computer-to-computer link-ups.
