Durability

A component of ACID - Durability is a property of a transaction processed via a database. A transaction is considered durable if, once completed, it will survive a failure of any of the systems on which it was processed. This includes a failure of the database management system itself.

The act of completing a transaction to a durable state is called "committing" the transaction.
